Admissions and Scholarships

The School of Art requires a portfolio for admission to degree programs in Studio Art and for scholarship opportunities in Art Education. The portfolio for incoming first-year students will be uploaded as a part of your TCU application. The Nordan Young Artist/Studio Art & Art Education Award is open to entering first-year students of superior talent in art with 12 or fewer semester hours of college level credit upon entry to the university. Our faculty review portfolios on a regular basis and decisions will be made at a number of different points during the admissions cycle. For early considerations please upload your portfolio no later than November 1st. We will also consider portfolios again early February 1, 2024.  Your portfolio should consist of 15-20 items. Images (up to 5MB each), Video (up to 250MB each) and PDFs (up to 10MB each) The portfolio should also include drawings from life (not copied from a photograph)

Merit scholarships are for students who are currently enrolled at TCU or students who have transferred to TCU and are majoring in the Art Education and Studio Art (Ceramics, Painting, Photography, Printmaking or Sculpture) BFA programs.
