School of Art

Welcome to the TCU School of Art. As you tour our web site, be sure to take a look at the work created by student and faculty artists. We are proud to showcase the many talents of those involved in our program.

Our school is a vibrant community of creative people who are devoted to exploring and pursuing art and design. Our faculty includes nationally and internationally recognized artists and art historians, and many of our alumni have achieved renown in the art and design fields.

Superior studios, lecture facilities, digital imaging labs and seminar rooms are housed in the J.M. Moudy Building, an architectural landmark on campus. The building was designed by the renowned Connecticut architectural firm of Kevin Roch John Dinkeloo and Associates. Our facilities support the creative activities of all our major areas: art education, art history, graphic design and studio art.

Students have ample opportunities to learn outside the Moudy building as well. The Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex is home to many world-class art museums, three that are a five-minute drive from campus. The Metroplex also has one of the nation's largest concentrations of artists and designers working today, and TCU students have access to many of their studios. Students are also able to visit many important art galleries in the Metroplex.

The area is also a major national market for graphic design. Students have access to some of the major design studios and advertising agencies in the nation, as well as one of the country's most active art directors' clubs, the Dallas Society of Visual Communications.

In addition to our program's many benefits, TCU has an excellent liberal arts education to offer you. Students have access to numerous campus amenities, including an outstanding campus library with a large collection of print, sound, video, DVD and other media.

Our program is designed to challenge and nurture creative minds. The TCU School of Art is comprised of talented individuals who are just as passionate about education as they are about art. If you share our passion for creativity, our school has a lot to offer you.
